Shane is a Managing Director and Field CISO at Praetorian with more than 14 years of experience in cybersecurity. He partners with enterprise clients to strengthen their security posture through strategic transformation, offensive security testing, and attack emulation. At Praetorian, he previously led the Product Security division as Practice Director, where he focused on service development and customer success. Before joining in 2021, Shane served as Global Practice Lead for Product Security at BSI and oversaw Espion’s North American operations prior to its acquisition by BSI. Over the course of his career, Shane has advanced from a hands-on red team operator and penetration tester to a professional services and executive leader, combining technical expertise with business strategy to deliver results that improve both security and business outcomes.
Recognized as a frequent voice in the cybersecurity community, Shane has presented at leading industry conferences, including the ISACA European Conference, the Cloud Security Alliance, HEANet, CISC Conferences, and OWASP Dublin. His professional achievements also include certifications such as GWAPT, CISM, and CISA, along with academic foundations built at the University of Limerick, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Engineering in Information and Network Security.
