Chad is a Managing Director & Field CISO at Praetorian, where he guides enterprise clients through strategic security transformation. He works closely with executive stakeholders and technical teams to develop and execute security programs that align risk, resilience, and business objectives.
With over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and consulting, Chad has led global delivery organizations, scaled professional services, and modernized go-to-market strategies across both startup and enterprise environments. Prior to joining Praetorian, he served as Senior Director of Consulting at Black Duck (Synopsys), where he built and led a global consulting practice focused on secure development and open source risk. His leadership spans across technical program management, product security, and operational frameworks designed to support long-term growth and measurable outcomes.
Chad’s career is grounded in hands-on technical expertise and a deep understanding of emerging technologies. He holds multiple patents in security and application development, and has served as a trusted advisor to clients ranging from high-growth startups to Fortune 100 enterprises. With experience that bridges boardroom strategy and engineering execution, Chad is known for translating complex challenges into practical, scalable solutions that drive both security and business value.
