Brian Peterson is a talented, high-functioning leader who leverages over three decades of industry experience. As the Chief Operating Officer of Praetorian, Brian is responsible for all Operations, Finance/RevOps, Managed Services, Professional Service, PeopleOps, and IT functions. He has the unique ability to dissect complex issues and challenges, find sound solutions and implement efficient processes that continue to move the business forward. Brian enables continual progress, innovation, and improvement.
Brian’s early professional career blended a deeply technical path with management and leadership. He gained valuable experience with scale and innovation in Silicon Valley, ultimately pivoting to networking and security.
After several years of security consulting, Brian joined an early stage fintech startup. He leveraged his experience with scale and offensive security to build and grow a secure, high-volume transaction processing platform, shared services, and infrastructure, rising to a CIO/CISO role and guiding the company through a successful acquisition.
Post-acquisition, Brian joined an aerospace company on the precipice of hyper-growth, Relativity Space. As the company’s first security hire, Brian rapidly rose to a senior leadership role responsible for all IT and security functions, achieving 10x growth in employees, 50x growth in occupied facilities, >$4B pre-revenue valuation, and the successful launch of a rocket.
As a former client of Praetorian, having experienced the exceptional expertise and value of Praetorian service, and having gained insight into the talent and potential of Praetorian, Brian was thrilled to join Praetorian in August 2024.
In his free time, you’ll find Brian spending quality time with his amazing family, snowboarding, traveling, and glowing from the excitement of his ability to help further Praetorian’s noble mission of discovering and assisting in the mitigation of material risk.
